Newster Waste System Announces the Installation of a Newster NW15 Sterilizer at Emmanuel Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia August 12, 2026 — Newster Waste System announces the successful installation of a Newster NW15 sterilizer for the treatment of healthcare waste at Emmanuel Hospital in Addis Ketema Sub-City, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The installation was completed under a project funded by GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance. Through this funding, Freight in Time (FIT) (  https://www.linkedin.com/company/freightintimegroup/posts/?feedView=all) donated the Newster NW15 and supported the project from procurement, importation and delivery through installation and implementation in Ethiopia.

Newster Waste System supplied the NW15 technology and provided the technical support required for its installation. The system is now installed at Emmanuel Hospital, where it will support the safe treatment of compatible infectious healthcare waste.

The installation represents an important step toward strengthening sustainable healthcare waste management and protecting healthcare workers, communities, and the environment.

The Newster NW15 uses innovative frictional heat technology to treat medical waste. The process enables the treatment and sterilization of waste without the need for combustion, helping to avoid the dangerous emissions associated with incineration.
