Newster Group starts the new year with two important recognitions. After obtaining the IQC PDT® Green (Performance Digital Traceability) certificate, which certifies and enhances solutions and services that contribute to environmental sustainability and ecological transition, the company returns from Arab Health 2022 with the compliments of the Italian ambassador in Dubai.
The Arab Health Fair in Dubai is the largest trade fairs for medical equipment and services in the Middle East and North Africa and the second largest exhibition in the world, following Medica in Dusseldorf. Every year the event hosts representatives from the healthcare sector from the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States and presents the latest innovations and cutting-edge technologies in the healthcare sector.
During this year’s edition, the Newster Group delegation, led by the Sole Administrator Andrea Bascucci, had the opportunity to present its innovative technologies for the treatment of hospital waste and received a remarkable response from partners and participants interested in Newster’s new sustainable solutions.
Visiting the Newster Group’s stand, the Italian ambassador in Dubai Nicola Lener, met Bascucci and congratulated the company for the high level of technology. Newster was also very pleased to meet in person with its partners and dealers, such as Universal Enterprises, the dealer for Pakistan, which visited the stand with a numerous team.
"For us the participation in this fair is important, especially this year - says Bascucci - With the increase of over 40% of hospital waste, due to the pandemic, the attention to the sector is very high. Events of this level help us to encourage new countries to invest in our technologies, to program important sustainability actions. We were very pleased with the attendance of visitors. We collected more than 50 new contacts".
The considerable increase in the production of hazardous healthcare waste with a high infectious risk, due to the Covid-19 emergency, can have a significant impact on the environment and incorrect waste management can lead to a greater spread of the virus.
The hospital waste treatment solutions designed by Newster are sterilizers that can be installed directly inside hospitals (on-site), based on the Frictional Heat Technology (FHT) treatment process. This technology is a sustainable and alternative method to incineration - recognized by current laws concerning the management of healthcare hazardous waste and by international organizations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO) - which enables hospitals to process solid waste in a cost effective way, reducing the risk of infection.
The Frictional Heat Technology is in fact a valid and effective solution against the spread of the Covid-19 virus and possible infections that could occur during storage and transport activities or the final disposal of medical waste. Being able to treat various types of material without adverse effects on the process efficiency, Newster sterilizers allow to treat all types of materials from infectious departments or from areas identified as outbreaks of the epidemic, without any segregation pre-treatment, thus facilitating the work of healthcare professionals and the movement of hazardous material within areas not yet affected by the epidemic.
Newster sterilization units offer many advantages, both from a health and environmental point of view, such as:
